He was a retired employee of 30 years with the J.C.P.S. and was an Army Air Corps Veteran of World War II.
Shortie is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Virginia, their sons, Scott and Mark Newlen and daughter-in-law, Cherie Newlen and a brother, Clifford “Bud” Newlen and wife Carolyn.
Guests are invited to attend a visitation from 2-8pm on Tuesday, July 21, 2015 and after 10am the day of the funeral. A funeral service to celebrate Shortie’s life will be conducted at 12 noon on Wednesday, July 22, 2015 in the chapel of Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Rd. with interment to follow at Highland Memory Gardens.
