

Both Chuck and Carol cherish 57.5 years of marriage and two children. Their first born son, Matthew “Matt” Parrish (Patricia) and children Katelynn, Emily and Addison survive Chuck. Their second born son, Clayton “Clay” Parrish went to heaven in 2014. Clay’s wife Linda and children Sydney and Nicholas “Nick” also survive Chuck.
Chuck was also preceded in death by his parents John and Inez and siblings Carol, Martha, Lois, Don and Beverly. He has three remaining siblings, John, Marilyn and Joe.
Chuck was a retired historian with the Louisville District U. S. Army Corps of Engineers. He has worked on numerous Corps and Ohio River history projects for nearly 40 years. He has authored numerous articles on navigation development of the Ohio Valley. He was a frequent presenter on navigation history aboard numerous Ohio River excursion boats. Chuck loved God’s beautiful Ohio River and still does.
A celebration of Chuck’s life will be held Tuesday, January 5th at 1pm at S.C.C. Chapel in the Woods 1407 Moser Road with burial in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will begin at 12pm until the start of the service. In Memory of Chuck, expressions of sympathy can be made to cjdfoundation.org.
