

Louisville- Chester Evans, 101, of Louisville, passed away on Wednesday, September 18, 2024 at his home at Symphony at Valley Farms, surrounded by his family. Throughout his life, he was a devoted son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and coach. An avid golfer, Chester proudly shot his age at 81 and loved recounting the story of his hole-in-one on the sixth hole at Shawnee Golf Course.
At the age of 10, Chester began delivering newspapers to help support his family after the death of his father. He later retired from Jones Dabney/Celenese Coatings, where he worked for over 40 years.
Chester was a member of Fenner Memorial Lutheran Church until its closing, after which he became a member of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 74 years, Doris Kinberger Evans; his infant son, Chester Neil; his sons, Michael and Stephen Evans; his daughter-in-law, Mary Dunn; and his siblings, Ruth Hunter, Vera Mason, William Evans and Jeanette Evans,
Left to cherish his memory are his devoted son, Bruce Evans; daughters-in-law, Shirley Evans and Gail Evans; brother-in-law, Ken Kinberger; grandchildren, Brian, Kevin, Scott, Renee, Johanna, Jessica, Anastasie, Brittany, Nicholas, Angela and Caroline; along with 19 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held on Monday, September 23 at 10 am at Evergreen Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 22 from 4 to 8 pm at Evergreen Funeral Home.
The Evans family would like to thank the entire staff at Symphony at Valley Farms for their kindness, care, and love over the past 5 years. They have truly become part of our family.
