Born in Louisville, KY, she graduated from DuPont Manual High School and formerly worked with LG&E. As a resident of Cuyahoga Falls, OH, for over 40 years, she attended the University of Akron as an education major and worked for Alltel. She was a loving, caring mother, grandmother and friend and was well respected in the community for her volunteer work with the church. Clara was a prayer warrior and attended many churches, most recently Grace Baptist (Winchester, KY) and Victory Baptist.
Mrs. Carson was preceded in death by her husband, William G. Carson; sisters, Sylvia and Susie; and brothers, Lenvil, Gene and Donald.
She is survived by a son, Wayne Carson (Mary Beth); a sister, Lillian E. Cox; and two grandchildren, Andrew and Claire Carson.
A memorial service will be held for her at 3 p.m. on Saturday, September 22, 2012, at the Arch L. Heady Funeral Home, 8519 Preston Highway. Visitation will be 1-3 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Alzheimer's Association or Parkinson's Disease Foundation.
