The eldest of three children, she is the daughter of William Lee and Goldie Mae Brooks. Clara married Alfred L. Ingram on August 2, 1940. She worked at Ireland Army Hospital in Fort Knox, KY for 25 years in the O.B. and Nursery Department.
Clara loved the beach at Pensacola, Florida; which she often visited. She had a thirst for knowledge and studying. Her library consisted of health related subjects and Bible theology.
Along with her husband, Alfred L. Ingram; she has two siblings who have preceded her in death.
She is survived by two children, Alfred W. “Billy” Ingram (Joann) of Louisville, KY and Martha Ingram Chesnut (Steve) of Atwood, IL; five grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and her sister, Goldie Jean Gauthier (Norman).
A service to celebrate the life of Clara will be noon Monday at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Rd., Louisville, KY. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. The visitation will be 10 am until service time Monday.
