

HOWARD, Clarence Harvey, 83, of Louisville passed away Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at Baptist Healthcare. He was born on November 3, 1934 in Washington County, Kentucky to the late Clarence B. and Thelma Howard. He was a graduate of Western Kentucky University where he was a member of the ROTC, and upon graduation served in the United States Army. Clarence went on to work as a chemist, plant manager and other various positions at Celanese for over 25 years.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Emmalene Jones Howard; and two daughters, Cynthia Lynn Howard and Cheri Lane Howard.
He is survived by his daughter Cathy Howard Arvin; grandchildren, Cheri Arvin Withrow (Chad), Cristen Em Arvin and Clayton Howard Arvin; great grandchildren, Anna Emmalene, Clara Elizabeth and Liam Eli David Schone; brother, James Howard; sisters-in-law, Maxine Dodd, Norine Brown, Flora Norsworthy and Opal Galvin.
A celebration of his life will be conducted Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at 10 am at Covenant United Methodist Church, 909 W. Jefferson St., LaGrange, KY, with burial in Louisville Memorial Garden West. Visitation will be from 3-7 pm Monday night at the church.
