Cody is survived by his brother, Barton, sister-in-law, Gwen, and nephew, Caden. He is preceded in death by his parents; Charles E. Cooper and Thelma Louise Cooper, as well as, his brothers; Wyatt B. Cooper and Jess F. Cooper.
Cody was loved and cared for by many, including the staff at Todd Dickey Nursing Home in Leavenworth, IN. He never met a stranger and had the honor of carrying the Olympic torch through Louisville on its way to the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta.
A visitation will be held at Arch L. Heady - Cralle Funeral Home, located at 2428 Frankfort Ave, Louisville, Kentucky, 40206, on February 10, 2026, starting at 10:00 am.
Private burial will take place at Cave Hill Cemetery & Arboretum, 701 Baxter Ave, Louisville, Kentucky, 40204, on February 10, 2026, at 11:00 am.
In lieu of flowers, donations made be made in Cody's memory to Hosparus Health Southern Indiana, 502 Hausfeldt Lane, New Albany, IN 47150.
