Connie graduated from Taylor County High School in 1981. She was a graduate of Western Kentucky University and the University of Louisville. She was a lifelong WKU and U of L fan. Connie also enjoyed spending time with her family, reading, writing, music, and art. Her children will remember her for the concerts she held for them as she drove them to school. She spent several years as a stay-at-home mother and volunteer for several organizations. She later became a special education teacher at Moore Traditional School.
Connie dedicated her soul to her Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ in 1972 and was baptized in Russell Creek on her family’s farm. She later converted to Catholicism and was a member of St. Rita parish.
Connie was greeted into her next life by her grandparents: Marcus Judd; Lucille Larimore Pierce; Thelma Powell Hatton; and William Buckner Moody.
In her move towards her Heavenly Father, she left behind her parents, Gerald (Jerry) Moody (Sue) and Brenda Judd Hubler (Jim); her three loving daughters, Emily Kathryn Voges Spagnola (Anthony), Rebecca Ellen Voges-Youngling (Joshua), and Sarah Elizabeth Voges; her former-husband and father of her children, David E. Voges, Jr.; the best brothers and sisters-in-law anyone could hope for; Gerald Michael Moody (Kalon), David Paul Moody (Michele), and Jeremy Lee Moody (Michelle). Next to being a mother to her daughters, one of the greatest thrills of her life was being known as Grandmommy to Gracie Lynn Voges, Morgan Brooke Youngling, Harley Noel Youngling, Luca Anthony Spagnola, James Dominic Spagnola. Connie appreciated her special friend and companion, Andrew Lopez, as he helped make her final days more comfortable and enjoyable. In addition, Connie had a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and friends whom she loved dearly.
A special thank you to Dr. Sarah Parsons, Dr. Beth Riley, Dr. Kristie Paris, and Nancy Plymale for their dedication in helping Connie address her medical and emotional needs during her cancer battle.
In lieu of flowers, Connie asks that expressions of sympathy take the form of random acts of kindness, hugs and expressions of love to her family, or donations of art supplies or financial support to the Art Therapy program at the Krista Lloyd Cancer Resource Center located in the James Graham Brown Cancer Center.
A service to celebrate Connie’s life will take place at 2pm on Sunday, March 24, 2019 at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road. The family will accept guests for visitation on Saturday, March 23, 2019 from 3-8pm at the funeral home.
