Craig Neal Stover, age 73, peacefully passed away with his loved ones by his side on June 10, 2021 in Louisville, KY. Craig was proceeded in death by his loving parents, Lewis and Elaine Stover, and his sister Connie Ramey of Topeka, KS.
Craig is a Veteran of the Vietnam War, he served honorably in the Marine Corps and was wounded during his mission. He earned several medals and awards for his dedication and bravery, including a Purple Heart.
The discipline and patriotism he learned in his upbringing and the Marine Corps never left him, as friends and family will attest. In 1968 he became the Disabled American Veterans Service Officer in Topeka, KS. His career began with the Veterans Administration in DesMoines, IA as an adjudicator. His ability to build relationships and assist veterans with their needs led him to the supervisor of Veterans Affairs in Sioux Falls, SD for five years. His dedication and determination to help his fellow veterans landed him the position of Assistant Director of the Veterans Administration Regional Office in Louisville, KY where he proudly spent 20 years until retirement.
He was very proud of all five of his children whom he deeply loved. He always had a big smile and a warm hug to greet them. His work ethic and desire to take care of his family was a number one priority. His stories and jokes would always gain your attention, just as his great sense of humor and distinct laugh would be sure to leave you feeling good! Craig was a kind and dependable son, father, and friend whom wholeheartedly loved his family and country.
Survived by his children Scott (Amy) Stover, Suzanne Tiano, Sandra (Mike) Tynch, Matt Stover, Sean Stover, as well as eleven grandchildren.
