D. Ruth Lucas

Ruth was a founding member of The First Apostolic Church where she was the pastor's wife, piano player, and Sunday School teacher. She also assisted her husband in establishing the Kentucky District Campground in Summerville, KY and then later attended The Believers Church. Ruth was also a member of The Daughters of the American Revolution and retired after 23 years with JC Penney.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Reverend James S. Lucas; sons, Reverend Edward Lucas, Reverend James D. Lucas, and Ronald Lucas.

Left to cherish her memory is her son, Richard Lucas (Sonna); daughter, Janet Lucas Bailey; Sister, Elizabeth Dodge; and honorary son, Rob Leitner; grandchildren, Ronda Wilson, Andreas Lucas, Jonathan Lucas, Howard Kiser, Jeremy Lucas, Nathanael Kiser, Christy Sharp, Andrew Kiser, Jordan Lucas, and Clifford Bailey; and 12 great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life service will be held 10am Saturday at Evergreen Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Friday at the funeral home from 2-8pm.
