Dana Ruth Bryant

While our hearts are broken by this tremendous loss, we hold tightly to our faith and to the promise that “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted” (Psalm 34:18). We may not understand why God has allowed this sorrow, but we trust that He is near, even in the moments when the pain feels unbearable.

Dana was a beloved daughter, sister, niece, wife, mother, aunt, friend, and so much more to everyone she encountered. She was deeply loved by those who knew her. Dana will be remembered for her resilience, her laughter, and the way she could strike up a meaningful conversation with anyone in the room. She had a way of making people laugh and helping those around her, even when she was in need. She leaves behind lasting memories that will never fade.

Above all, Dana was a devoted and caring mom to her daughters, Jasmine Rae Bryant and Kalin Marie Bryant. She loved her daughters with an unwavering love, and she cherished them everyday.

Dana found joy in nature while fishing and watching the sunset. She loved music and would allow it to permeate her soul. She will be remembered for her ability to enjoy life, to notice “the glimpses of Heaven” (as she would say), and for the countless ordinary moments that became sublime simply because she was there.

As with all of us, Dana’s life was not without struggle. She faced many external and internal battles, and there were seasons when simply finding her way forward took tremendous strength, beyond herself. There were hard days, seasons of brokenness, and times when the path ahead was difficult to find. However, she knew God was there in the darkness, the tears, and in every step along the way. She loved to listen to worship music all the time, and especially when life was hard. And yet, her struggles do not define her life. She was created, loved, adored, and held by God, always. We believe that God’s grace covered every chapter of her life, and she is now free from earthly struggles, resting in His perfect peace forevermore.

Dana is survived by her daughters Jasmine Rae Bryant and Kalin Marie Bryant; sisters Lori Marie Liggin (Johnson), Nicole Marie Crockett (Drewitz; spouse Bradley), and Allison Noreen Blevins (Drewitz; spouse Samuel); grandchildren Isaiah Ray Wright and Kalani Marie Smith; her step-father Richard Allen Drewitz; her nieces and nephews Ajah Nicole Brogli (Liggin; spouse Andrew), Deasia Clayton, Keziah Paige Liggin, Dynasty Clayton, Dawan Clayton, Ethan Juett Crockett, Lyla Ruth Blevins, Hyla Brook Crockett, Autumn Rose Blevins, Emery Grace Blevins, Elise Marie Blevins, and Lydia Faye Blevins; great-niece Norah Marie Brogli; and extended aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Dana was preceded in death by her biological father William Kenneth Johnson; her biological mother Linda Marie Drewitz (Jacoby); her husband Michael Ray Bryant; her grandpa “Papa” Harlan Wilson Jacoby; her granny Helen Noreen Jacoby (Reinig); her aunt Helen Teresea McFadden (Jacoby); her first cousin Sue Anne McFadden Stein; and her uncles Steve Jacoby, Joseph Jacoby, Gordon Jacoby, and Bob Jacoby. Dana was faithful to attend all the funerals of loved ones that she lost. She treasured her immediate and extended family and friends.

Until we meet again, we will carry her love, her laughter, and her grit in our hearts. We will trust in God, who never left her side, and who walks alongside us and directs our paths today and into eternity (Proverbs 3:5-6).

Visitation will be held from 10:00am – 11:00 am Saturday, October 3rd at Trinity Chapel Church, 8617 Whipps Mill Road, with the funeral service beginning at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Floydsburg Cemetery.
