Danny was born in Louisville, Kentucky, to the late Pirtle and Ruth (Bryant) Meeks. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved partner of 49 years, Ed Rheaume; and his siblings, Sue, Herman, Dewey, Bobby, Darrell, Paul, Joe, Butch, Patsy, and Glenn.
Left to cherish his memory are his brothers, Mike Meeks and Garry (Joy) Meeks; his nieces, Angie (David) and Carey (Dave); his nephew, Paul (Susan); and his faithful furry companion, Onyx. He will also be lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, and dear friends, too numerous to mention.
Throughout his life, Danny dedicated himself to serving others through his work in the food service industry. He was a member of Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church and deeply loved the Lord. Danny was well known in his neighborhood for greeting anyone who passed by his garage on French Street with a friendly wave, a warm smile, or a dog treat for their furry friend.
Family was Danny’s greatest treasure, a love he held close throughout his life and until the very end.
Visitation will take place on Friday, January 2, 2026 from 2 PM until 8 PM at Arch L. Heady and Son, 3601 Taylor Blvd. Danny’s funeral Mass will take place on Saturday, January 3, at 10 AM at Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church with burial to follow at Brookland Cemetery.
