DaViawn JaQualius Blackmon

Daviawn was an 8th grader who attended Shawnee. DaViawn was the youngest of 7, and he certainly did not like it at all. He was a master macgyver, a jack of all trades from cooking, picking locks, to selling his mother’s meats to help others. We can’t forget his constant solicitation for odd jobs from his family to get paid and then say, “he wasn’t going to do it.” Daviawn’s smile would light up a room with his dimples poking through. He showed his love and emotion in a different way, but we all knew he loved us deeply and vice versa. Daviawn loved writing music and drawing and worked a part time position at Studio15 where he did light maintenance and helped secure the premises.

Here to cherish his memory is; mother, Dawn & Lamont Brown, father, Harold Lee McNeal, seven brother and sisters. Grandad, Bruce Watson, sister, JeRonda Smith, (Stephon), nephews, Charles, Cameren, Caden, niece, Ca’Leigh Sanders, sister, Rolanda Hamilton (Angelo Marks, niece, Raelan Goodwin, brother,ReMone Watson, niece, Oundrea, brother, Te’Quaan Watson, nephew, Eluciario “Rio” Watson, brother, Zhakee Brasher, nieces, Zenomi Brasher, and Brielle Parr, sister, Zhylah Zabad, uncle, Farrell McNeal, aunt/uncle, LaTosha & Mike Fields, cousin, CieAyra Fields, uncle, Raymond Mercer (Heather), cousins; Isaiah, Raymond, Ebonee, Halie, Zakyra, Alajah, Carmelo, Kam, Damion, Miliana, Londyn, Rose, Zahra and aunt, Erisa “Reesie” Watson.

Daviawn was preceded in death by, great grandmother, June V.Murray, grandmother, Sandra Simmons, great aunt, Brenda Brown, great uncle, Albert Murray, nephew, Ukhani A. Bridges.

A memorial for DaViawn will be held Saturday, July 13, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road, Louisville, KY 40218.
