He was given the gift of life on December 01, 1939, to the proud parents of Lee and Dorothy Fenton and now he has to give it back. He followed his father (his best friend) footsteps and was initiated into Local 369 as an electrician on January 25, 1965. He served his country in the Navy and was a successful business man starting Fenton Electric, Inc. alongside his wife in June 1975.
He was preceded in death by many loved and missed family members and friends and one great-grandchild.
The family chain in broken again but as GOD calls us one by one the chain will link again. Left to treasure his memories is an amazing wife of 56 years, Marlene Stilger Fenton; three children, John Fenton (Gayle), June Fenton and Joseph Fenton (Peggi); 8 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; three sisters that would refer to him as "Precious", Cookie Wright (Paul), Carole Webb (Rick) and Gail Olsen (Howard); his uncle, Sonny "Rags" Ragsdale (Trish); and several loyal employees. It was an honor for him to be friends with some truly great people. He was hard core but will be missed dearly. There will be plenty of memories about spending a beautiful day at Camp David on Sonny's Plantation in Paradise where The Bumps never got too rough.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to Hosparus, for the great appreciation from The Fenton Family, for their caring, helping and supporting hearts and hands during David's last days.
A celebration of his legacy will be held on Monday, April 4, 2016 at 12 pm at Evergreen Funeral Home on Preston Highway. Visitation will be Sunday from 2 pm-8 pm at the funeral home.
