David Bruce Layten

David is preceded in passing by his parents, Orlo F. and Darthy Layten; his uncle, William Brown, and his aunt Meta Lemons. Here to carry on his memory are his loving wife, Janet Barnett Layten; his adoring sons, David Alexander Layten (“Alex”), and Bradley Allen Layten; sister Denise Layten (Craig Smith); Uncle James Brown; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.

David graduated from the University of Louisville as a founding member and former President of the UofL Chapter of the Delta Chi Fraternity. His favorite hobbies included biking, playing tennis and golf, attending UofL sporting events, concerts, and going to the movies. David adored animals, and was an avid UofL fan. He worked tirelessly as not only a dedicated employee, but also as a conscientious business owner. He will be forever remembered as the loving, kind, and warm-hearted gentle soul he is.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, September 8, 2022, from 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road. A memorial service in David’s honor will begin at 6:00 PM on Thursday in the funeral home chapel. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to any of the following charities – American Heart Association, Cancer Research Institute or Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.
