He is preceded in death by his wife, Doris J. Leathers, their son, David E. Leathers Jr, his siblings, Jesse Robert Leathers and Nancy Paralee Leathers.
David is survived by his sister, Ethel Rose Shoemaker, grandchildren, John David Leathers and Brittany Heffley (Alan), nephews, Darrel Allen Wyatt and Guy Everett Shoemaker, niece, Peggy Cook, great-niece, Ashley Cook, great-nephew, Chad Cook, and a great-grandchild, Gwendalynne.
A funeral service to celebrate David’s life will be conducted at 12 noon on Monday, November 23, 2015 in the chapel of Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Rd with interment to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Guests are invited to attend a visitation from 3-8pm on Sunday, November 22, 2015 and after 9am Monday, the day of the funeral.
