David was born on May 8th, to the late David Lee Skilton and Alta Roberts in Harvey, Illinois. After moving around the country and world he gained a stepfather in the late Joseph Jackson. David proudly graduated from Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas.
While David was a quiet man, he had a kind heart and a brilliant mind. He was beloved by his friends, family, coworkers and many other people he has had an impact on. He enjoyed reading, collecting everything you could imagine but especially coins and baseball cards, and above all; watching sports. David was an avid Aggie, Bearkat and Astros fan. He was a loving father to his son, David Joseph Skilton and most recently a proud grandfather or “pops’ to Henry David Skilton. David is survived by his son DJ, daughter-in-law Katelyn and grandson Henry, step-daughter Summer, as well as sisters, Beth and Jamie, and brother Michael.
The world is a little less brighter without him around.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks to make a donation in David’s name to the American Heart Association.
