He was born November 5, 1941 in Louisville, the son of the late Delbert C. and Ernestine (Winfield) Varvel. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Curtis and Mickey Varvel.
Del was a United States Army Veteran, a member of Beechwood Baptist Church and Suburban Masonic Lodge #740.
Survivors include his wife, Sue Varvel, a daughter, Michele Arellano (Benny); two step-daughters, Lisa and Lynn Garrett; two grandchildren, Alycia and Adam Arellano; and one great-grandson, Isaiah Arellano.
Visitation will be held from 11:00AM-2:00 PM on Monday, March 27, 2023 at Arch L. Heady-Cralle Funeral Home, 2428 Frankfort Ave. Masonic Services will be conducted at 1:30 PM Monday at the funeral home and Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Monday at the funeral home.
Graveside services and burial will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Thursday, April 6, 2023 at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central in Radcliff, KY.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or Suburban Masonic Lodge #740.
