

He is preceded in death by his parents Walter Janocik and Rose Naumowicz Janocik; granddaughter Sarah Janocik; and brother-in-law Ronald Richards. He is survived by his adoring wife of 58 years, Janice (Luehrs) Janocik; sons Jeff (Brenda), Mike (Susan), and Brian (Renee) Janocik. He was also the proud grandparent of Benjamin (Kaitlin), Matthew, Gloria, Lauren, Mary Beth, and Nicholas Janocik; great-grandsons John Janocik, and Elijah Janocik; sister Christine Janocik Richards of Lake Zurch, IL; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Dennis loved his family above all else, and enjoyed spending his time at the ball park, basketball court, the band concerts, the jazz concerts, and all the activities his children and grandchildren participated in. Father and granddaughter dances were top on his list. He also enjoyed classic cars, Indy car racing, music from the 50’s, cruising the oceans and family-time cheering on the Green Bay Packers. He was a son of parents of “the Greatest Generation”, enjoying all the history surrounding World War 2, and crafting balsa wood WW2 airplanes on rainy days.
He was a Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE) graduate, a registered Professional Engineer and spent much of his career in the package handling and air pollution control disciplines.
A visitation will be held Wednesday, May 26 at Resthaven Funeral Home, 4400 Bardstown Road, from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm, and Thursday morning from 8:15 am – 9:45 am at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, 3705 Stone Lakes Drive, Louisville KY 40299. A Mass of Christian Burial in Dennis's place will begin at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to Baptist Palliative Care of Hosparus of Louisville.
