Dolores Smith

Dolores Jane Smith, age 94, returned to her Heavenly Father on Monday, August 4, 2025. She was born on August 11, 1930, to the late Walter and Ruby Knoop. Dolores was a member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church and St. James Episcopal Church. Dolores loved her family, traveling with her husband, ceramics, sewing, scrapbooking, and watching soap operas and game shows.

In addition to her parents, Dolores is preceded in death by her husband; Allie Smith, son; Raymond Eugene Smith, sister; Evelyn Johnson, and granddaughter; Lora Martin.

Left to cherish Dolores's memory are her children; Nancy McDonald (George), Patricia Doyle (Lucian "Buddy"), Vickie Mulac (John), and Sheila Martin (Ronnie), "her fifth daughter"; Dee Dickman (Sam), grandchildren; Tracy (Matt), Kevin (Heather), Cathy, Christopher (Crystal), Neil (Megan), Clarrissa (Zach), and Dana (Dan), 10 great-grandchildren, 8 great-great-grandchildren, siblings; Walter Knoop, Jr. and Florence Stansbury, and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

The family of Mrs. Smith would like to extend a special thank you to all of Dolores's caregivers for all their kind and compassionate care.

A visitation for Dolores will be held Friday, August 8, 2025 from 3:00pm to 8:00pm at Evergreen Funeral Home, 4623 Preston Highway, Louisville, KY 40213. A funeral service will occur Saturday, August 9, 2025 at 10:00am. Dolores will be laid to rest at Evergreen Cemetery.
