

She was born January 24, 1929 in Pascagoula, Mississippi, to the late Louis Mandel and Ethel Marie Perez. She is preceded in death by her late husband, Karl L. Woodrig; daughter, Glenda A. Elliott; great-grandson, Robbie Bethany; brothers, Vincent; Bobby and Douglas Perez; Nieces, Diane Perez Waters; Tina Perez Stringfellow and nephews, Luke, Bobby, Stevie, and Travis Perez.
She is survived by daughters, Carolyn (David) Nash, Cindy (Dennis)Shore; sister, Joyce Brooks, and sister-in-law, Shirley Perez. She is also survived by 25 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She enjoyed life and loved making everyone happy with her musical talents that started at an early age, singing and traveling with Big Band Music and later singing at various events always making people smile and laugh. She was a seamstress having her own business for many years as well as doing alterations for Penny’s and Sears Menswear. Her love of animals was great especially dogs, her baby was the late “LULU” and most recently was “Rosie”. Her favorite Bible Verse was Psalm 13:3-6, Look on me and answer, O Lord my God. Give light to my eyes, or I will sleep in death; my enemy will say, “ I have overcome him, and my foes will rejoice when I fall. But I trust in your unfailing love; my heart rejoices in your salvation. I will sing to the Lord, for he has been good to me.
Visitation is at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Memorial Park, Tuesday, January 3, 2023 from 10am-2pm with Chapel Services at 2:00 pm with Greg Leathers officiating.
Private burial will be Saturday, January 7 at 11:00 am.
