He retired from the Lear Corporation and was a Navy Veteran.
Donald is preceded in death by his loving wife of 50 years; Bertha Mae Douglas, parents; Leonard and Viola Douglas and sisters; Faye and Charlotte.
He is survived by his daughters; Toni Helton (Rob) and Sandy Douglas, grandchildren; Erin Bigg (Chris), Alex Major, Zach Helton, Michael Helton and Leslie Helton, siblings; Ava Klein, John Douglas and Lenny Douglas (Judy). He is also survived by many nephews and nieces. He is also survived by his faithful companion Mitsy.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday January 14, 2012 in the Chapel of Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Rd. A private inurnment will be at Resthaven Memorial Park.
Visitation will be Saturday January 14, 2012, 12 noon until service time.
