

He was preceded in death by his brother, David Scheer.
He was born in Louisville, Kentucky to Donald Scheer and Doris Hardin.
Don began his career as a firefighter for Mt. Washington Fire Department in 1993. He continued his life's work, for Metro Ambulance Service, Air Evac Lifeteam, amongst a few others, and served as a paramedic for Louisville Metro EMS since 2005. Working special EMS events around Louisville, watching football, singing karaoke, and playing pool were a few things Don enjoyed. Don was proud to be a paramedic and was most proud of being a father and grandfather. He dedicated his life to his family, to his work, and to the city of Louisville, exemplifying his deep love for helping others. He will be so greatly missed by so many.
His parents, Don Scheer and Doris Hardin, children, Lauren, Devin, and Mikayla Scheer, grandchildren, Ay’Lani Hodge, Daxton Scheer, Theodore Harr, nephew Dominick Scheer and, great niece Sydnee Scheer, along with many other friends and family, will continue to cherish his memory.
A visitation for Donald will be held Saturday, October 21, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road, Louisville, Kentucky 40218.
A second visitation will occur Sunday, October 22, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, with a funeral service beginning at 2:00 PM, at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven.
