Donna J Boyd

Donna Boyd, 92, of Louisville Kentucky, passed away at home on January 6, 2026 surrounded by her family after a long battle with dementia. Donna was cared for full time by her daughter Teresa, with help from other family members and friends.

Donna was born to Frank and Rosie Bird Smith on February 17, 1933.

Donna is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 52 years, Joe Boyd, Sr.; seven brothers and sisters, Loraine Smith, Jessie Smith, Bill Smith, Frank Smith Jr., Frances Bernard, Ivy Brietenbach and Carlos (Shorty) Smith; grandson, Robbie Adams; daughter-in-law, Sheila Boyd.

Donna is survived by her children, Penny Turner (Mike), Joe Boyd, Jr. (Mary), Teresa Boyd (Tim), Sandy Gentry (Steve); sister-in-law, Wanda Smith; four grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; many extended family and dear friends.

Donna loved to be around her family, going to parties, listening to bands, dancing and fishing.

A Celebration of Life will be Saturday, January 17th, 2026, promptly at 1:30 p.m. with family and friends arriving at 1:00 p.m. at Arch L. Heady and Son Funeral Home - Okolona Chapel, 8519 Preston Hwy, 40219.

Family and friends are invited to a reception immediately following the service at Chenoweth Park Condominiums Clubhouse, 9912 Chenoweth Vista Way, 40299.
