She was born in Louisville, Kentucky, on February 7th, 1932 to Elic and Stella Gribbins. She was the youngest of nine children. She was a kind and caring person for the entirety of her life. Always thinking of others, sometimes that led her to the role of caregiver, often a friend and encourager.
Doris' love of family was foremost, as was her love for God. Both were evident in her actions and attitude. Her career included working in the Human Resources field for CommonWealth life insurance Company and The Farm credit Banks.
With eight brothers and sisters, Doris had a multitude of nieces and nephews. All of whom she cherished. For many years, she and her close friend, Claris were present in the lives of her siblings, as well as their families. Doris loved and cherished those times.
For the past two years, Doris has been lovingly cared for at the Episcopal Church Home. Many thanks to their staff, Pat and her daughter, Lisa were invaluable during those years. All of her nieces and nephews were important parts of Doris. Along with her parents, Doris was preceded in death by all of her siblings and their spouses.
Left to cherish her memory are many nieces and nephews, their families, friend Claris Udd, and many others whose lives she touched.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Lifesong Christian church, Southeast Christian church, or a charity of senders choice.
