Doris V. Thompson

Doris Viola Thompson, 86 of Louisville, KY passed away August 20, 2017. Doris was born and raised in Anniston, AL. Doris attended Auburn University and enjoyed writing poetry in her spare time. She was published in several books. Doris also worked as a CMA for many years. The most important thing to Doris was her family.

Preceding her in death are her parents, William and Mary Thomas and her husband, James Donald Thompson Sr.

Left to cherish Doris’s memory are her three children; James Thompson (Gina), Debbie Ambers (Larry) and Lisa Heckel (Tony). She also leaves behind her grandchildren; Cody Ambers (Nicole), Cameron Thompson, Dane Thompson, Remy Heckel and great grandchild; Marcus Ambers.

Visitation for Doris will be held on Thursday, August 24, 2017 from 11:00am-2:00pm at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven with a celebration of Doris’s life to follow at 2:00pm at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Rd., Louisville, KY 40218. A private interment will take place at Resthaven Memorial Park, 4400
