Born to the late John Brinly and Frankie Nichols Brinly, Dorothy is also preceded in passing by her loving husband of 45 years, Don Bringer; siblings Hardy Brinly, Charles Brinly, and Robert Brinly. Here to carry on her memory is her son David Bringer (Vicki); grandchildren David Bringer, Nicole Adams (Mark), and Noah Bringer; great-grandson Carter; step great-grandchildren Wesley and Nathaniel; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Dorothy graduated from Louisville Girls High School, currently Manual High School, and was a Girl Scout Leader. She was active in My Old Kentucky Home Homemakers Club, and was the last surviving charter member of the local chapter of the Mended Hearts. Dorothy retired from Sears as a supervisor in credit central after working diligently for over 30 years. She was a member of Redeemer Presbyterian Church and selflessly delivered for Meals on Wheels for years. She enjoyed bowling, camping and boating, but her favorite hobby was traveling on bus tours with her best friend Doris.
A visitation will be held Saturday, September 25, 2021 from 11:00 am – 2:00 pm at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road. A funeral service in Dorothy’s honor will be held immediately at 2:00 pm at the funeral home. Dorothy will be laid to rest in Resthaven Memorial Park.
