

Dorothy Craycroft James, 90, of Louisville passed away Tuesday morning September 2, 2014. Born in Owensboro, Ky June 30, 1924, she was the daughter of John Morgan Craycroft and Leona B. Craycroft. She was a lifelong member of Saint Boniface Catholic Church in Louisville Ky.
Dorothy will always be remembered for her kindness and compassion for the less fortunate, the self-sacrifice she made for the benefit of her children, the many Saturday night dances to the tunes of “Big Band” music and her genuine love her family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years, Cecil James; and her daughter Judith A. James; two sisters and one brother.
She is survived by her loving and dedicated daughter Donna M. Brock (Bill); two sons, Bobby and Michael (Deborah); two grandsons, Chris Brock (Kim) and David Brock; two granddaughters, Tonia James and Sheila Blackburn (Troy); 8 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Sincere appreciation is extended to the compassionate staff of Seneca Place Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility, particularly Alice Ellis for her excellent care of Dorothy.
Visitation will be from 2pm to 8pm, Friday September 5, at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Rd., Louisville. A funeral mass will be celebrated at Saint Boniface Catholic Church, 531 East Liberty Street, Louisville, Ky. At 11 am Saturday September 6, with burial to follow at Resthaven Cemetery.
