Dorothy Mae ‘Kelsie’ McGohon June 13, 1927 - October 14, 2020
Kelsie McGohon, age 93, passed away Wednesday, October 14, 2020 at her residence in Roswell, GA. She was born in Pineville, Bell County, Kentucky, but lived most of her life in the Highview area of Raywick in Marion County, KY and then almost 25 years in the Glendale area of Elizabethtown, KY. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Lebanon for many years and later, the Gilead Baptist Church in Glendale, KY.
She was the daughter of the late Etta Sizemore and David Colson ‘D.C.’ Taylor and was one of six children.
Kelsie was a loving wife, mother, and daughter who devoted herself to her family. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 66 years, Isaac Norman McGohon, son of Aline Elizabeth Greer and John Overton ‘Jack’ McGohon. Also preceding her in death are her sisters Chesney Hammack, Norma Jean Kafoglis; her brothers Charles Everett Taylor, David Colson Taylor, Jr.; her grandson Joshua Michael Lynch and her son-in-law William C. Lynch, Jr.
She is survived by her son, Isaac Norman ‘Sonny’ McGohon, Jr. of Thomson, GA and her daughter Sharon Lynch of Bluffton, SC; her brother James Frank Taylor (Beverly) of Louisville, KY; six grandchildren, Mary (Rob) Balch, Ryan McGohon, Katelyn McGohon, Bill (Dana) Lynch and Amanda (Michael) Lyjak. She had seven very special great grandchildren, Nora McGohon, Malcolm, Lewis & Errol Balch and Will, Gigi & Jack Lynch who always put a smile on her face.
Pallbearers are Bill & Will Lynch, Michael Lyjak, Michael Kafoglis, Ike, Scott, & Jeffrey McGohon, and Shawn Taylor.
Funeral services will be held privately at the Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, with a prayer graveside service and interment following at the Highview Methodist Church Cemetery.
