Dorothy Geraldine Shipley, 86, lovingly known as Gerrie, passed away on August 29, 2026. Gerrie was a devoted Catholic woman of faith whose life was marked by steady love, gentle kindness, and a selfless readiness to care for others. A true family woman, she was a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend, and she held those roles with quiet strength and deep devotion. She was also the oldest sister to four younger brothers, a place she filled with enduring care and constancy.
In seasons of difficulty, Gerrie’s compassion showed itself most clearly in the way she served, especially as a caregiver to both of her parents during their health decline. She would do anything for anyone in need, offering help without hesitation and love without condition. In the lives she touched, Gerrie will be remembered with love.
Gerrie was preceded in death by her parents, John and Dorothy Burchett; her brother, John Burchett Jr.; as well as many beloved family members and friends.
Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Bill Shipley, and Lonnie Shipley (Kimberly); her brothers, Donald Burchett (Marjorie), Michael Burchett (Carol), and Dale Burchett (Brenda); as well as three grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild whom she cherished deeply.
