Douglas was a retired employee of 30 years of Ford Motor Company Louisville Assembly Plant.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Irene Black, his wife, Patsy R. Black and a brother, Elmer A. Black Jr.
Douglas is survived by his children, Douglas Black (Judy), Mark Black (Joyce) and Debra Black Bybee (Michael), grandchildren, Eric, Brittany, Emily, Bradley, Andrew and Abigail. Douglas is also survived by 9 great grandchildren.
A visitation will be held from 9-10am Friday 13, 2026 at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Rd. Louisville KY 40218. A celebration of life will begin at 10am the day of visitation. Burial will take place at Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery.
