Douglas Garvin, 73, died May 18, 2026. Born September 25, 1952, Douglas was a proud Army Vietnam Veteran whose life reflected steady devotion to duty, country, and family. Douglas retired from the USPS after a career defined by reliability and service. He continued to stand alongside fellow veterans as a member of AMVETS Post 61 and VFW 1181, honoring shared bonds and the responsibilities that do not end when the uniform is set aside.
Douglas was married to Bonnie Seitz Garvin for 50 years. Douglas was preceded in death by his parents, William Garvin and Geneva Knuckles. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Bonnie Garvin; his daughter, Allison Hayes; his grandchildren, Kiley and Mason Hayes; siblings, Rodney Garvin (Kathy) and Lynn Wintergerst; as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Evergreen Funeral Home, 4623 Preston Highway, Louisville, KY 40213, on May 29, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
