Douglas Wayne Holliger, 48, of Louisville, Kentucky passed away on June 22, 2025. Doug was born on February 18, 1977 in Louisville, Kentucky to James Wayne Holliger and Elizabeth Elaine Thomas Holliger.
Doug loved to make people laugh and giving them a personalized nickname. He enjoyed music and dancing, one might say, he could certifiably, “boogie on down”, he was undoubtedly the life of the party! Doug loved to fish, camp, and travel all while creating beautiful memories, from childhood camping trips to Red Barren River to family vacations in Panama City Beach, FL. He found peace, serenity and joy in the new adventures and travels he endured with the ones he admired and loved dearly, his family. Doug was one of a kind, always lending a helping hand to others who needed it. He was a loving Husband, Dad, Son, “Peeps”, Brother, Uncle and Best Friend, he will truly be missed by all who admired and loved him.
Left to cherish Doug’s memory are his parents, Jim & Elaine Holliger; 2nd Dad, Kenneth Brewer “Cowboy”; loving wife of 25 years, Dana “Dae Dae”; children, Jessica “Sissticated Reese Cup” (Johnny), Erica “The Goat” (Cory), Heavin “Suga Cain” Patrick, & Diddle “Monkey Man Do”; sisters, Lena “Lena Lena Lena Lenaaaa” Hunt (Tommy), Taylor “Tay Tay” Thomas; brother, Steve Holliger; brothers-in-law, Tommy Hunt and Freddie Hudspeth (Treva); grandchildren, Jay “Ilford”, Lainie “Chunk MD”, Laila “Rabbit Dog”, Mylah “Moe Gettems”, Maizlyn “Pasty”, Malayah “Tripple”; nephews, Matthew “Matchew Matchew”, Jaden “JW”, Jaxson “Little Lamar”, Ethen “E Man Willy”, Kenny “Bubba Woo”, Freddie “June Bug Willy”, Jordan “Gordon”; nieces, Maegan “Mae Mae”, Isabella “Izzy Izzy”, Brianna “Breezy Banana”, Cassidy “Catastrophe”, Bree “Row Dog” and Maddie “Minnie Mouse”; best friend, Frankie Masters (Tasha); special friends, Anne, “Tiff Tiff”, "Ree Ree", Bob “Bam Bino”, Dough (Miranda) and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 1, 2025 from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. at Evergreen Funeral Home 4623 Preston Hwy, Louisville, KY 40213, followed by a service to honor the life of Doug at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Doug will be laid to rest in Evergreen Cemetery.
