

Earl Norvin Klink, 94, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Monday, July 10, 2023 at Valhalla Post Acute. Earl was born on May 19, 1929, in Louisville, Kentucky to parents Charles and Loretta Hillen Klink.
Earl is survived by his beloved wife, Doris Moffett Klink, his sister Carole Mix, his son Gary Klink (Judy), daughters Sherry Welch (Bill), Carol Patterson (Mark), step-son Mike Klein (Karen), step-daughter Kathy Klein. His grandchildren Ryan Klink, Lindsey Whorton, Taylor Huffaker, Aaron Klein, Brooke Stafford, Megan Huber, and great-grandchildren Caroline Stafford, Oakley Klein, Hunter Stafford, and several nieces and nephews.
Earl was preceded in death by his parents, as well as his sister Dorothy Kaiser and brother Charles Klink.
Earl attended Male High School, graduating in the class of 1947. He furthered his education at Western Kentucky University and the University of Louisville.
Earl had a successful career of 32 years at Upjohn Pharmaceutical, where he specialized in infectious disease studies. He found great fulfillment during his time there. Following retirement, later in life, Earl pursued a second career in real estate, holding a broker's license.
Earl was an active member of the Colonial Oaks Baptist Church of Sarasota, FL, where he and Doris worshipped prior to moving back to Louisville in 2020. He was always very active and involved in the churches where he was a member. He served many different positions at Prospect Baptist and Westport Road Baptist Churches during their years prior to moving to Sarasota, Florida. Even as a teenager teaching Sunday School class at St John United Church of Christ in Louisville, KY.
In his free time, Earl enjoyed boating where he spent over twenty years living on the Ohio River. He had a passion for breed of boxers and was preceded in death by Star, Tag, Staunen, and Buster. He also enjoyed ice skating late into his sixties winning the Kentucky Senior Olympics ice dancing competition.
Earl Klink will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him. His memory will live on through the cherished moments shared with loved ones.
A funeral service will be held to honor Earl's life and legacy Saturday, July 15, 2023 at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Rd, Louisville, Ky 40218. Visitation 10am-12pm, with service to follow at 12.
