In addition to sharing special times with family and the many friends that graced his life, he was an avid golfer and loved the horses. A committed employee, Eddie worked for Louisville Gas and Electric, Kentucky Kingdom, Inc. and concluded his career with eleven years of service at the Louisville Water Company.
An “icon” on the softball field throughout his lifetime, Eddie received one of the highest honors for his achievements; becoming a 2012 Kentucky Softball Hall-of-Fame Inductee.
Eddie is survived by his parents, Jerry and Barbara McCauley; daughter, Christina Portman; son Brandon, daughter Amanda and their mother, Laura (McCoun) McCauley; brother Terry (Peggy) McCauley; grandchildren, Kaylee and Trey; niece and nephews, Jaime, Nathan and Michael McCauley.
Visitation will be Sunday from 1:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road, Louisville KY and after 9:00 a.m. on Monday. Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 Monday at the funeral home.
