He was born and raised in Magnolia, KY and called "Scott" by his family. He and Jean met while working at the VA office in Louisville and raised their family in PRP. As Grandpa and Pappy, he adored his grand and great-grandchildren and made up funny songs and games with them.
He retired as a rate clerk from the trucking industry and was a member of Teamsters Local 89. He was a member of Virginia Avenue United Methodist Church.
Mr. Milby was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Milby and Martha Milby Wells; a sister, Rozella Jones; and a brother, Lee Milby.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Jean; children, Patricia Garvin (Larry); Nancy Herndon (Kenny) and Rev. Scott Milby (Dawn); grandchildren, David, Steven, Patrick, Casey, Adam, Rachael, Elena and Emilee; great-grandchildren, Cameron, Kylie, Maverick, Blake, Bryse, Tate, Eva, Ben, Scarlett, Luke, Conner, Charlie, Harper and Parker; a brother, Don Milby (Mary); and nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be on Tuesday, June 19th, at 12 noon, at the Heady-Hardy Funeral Home, 7710 Dixie Highway, with interment following in Bethany Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday from 2pm until 8pm.
