Edith Christine Brewer

Edith Christine Brewer passed from this life into the loving arms of her heavenly father on February 26, 2024 at the age of 95. Christine was born on March 18, 1928. She graduated from Louisville Girls High School in 1947. She was a member of Carlisle Avenue Baptist Church for over 50 years.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of over 60 years, George W. Brewer; her parents John Earl and Nancy Bell Collins; a brother, James Earl Collins and a beloved granddaughter Angela Dawn Sydnor.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, John Brewer and Brenda Sydnor (Randall); grandchildren, Wesley Sydnor (Natasha) and Jason Sydnor (Jennifer); great grandchildren Saxon, Luke, Tyler and Andrew; a brother Eugene Collins; 6 nieces and 4 nephews.

Christine was an excellent homemaker and cook, but her special love was her family. She was a very loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt.

Christine had a very close and loving relationship with her niece Rachel Szerletich, who acted as her care giver in Christine's later years. The family would like to thank Rachel for the excellent care she bestowed upon Christine.

Visitation will be held from 3-7pm Friday at Arch L. Heady & Son Funeral Home, 3601 Taylor Blvd. Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday at the funeral home, with private burial at Evergreen Cemetery.
