Edna "Mavis" Miller

Edna M. "Mavis" (nee Johnson) Miller, 87, of Louisville, passed away peacefully at her home with her loving son by her side, on October 15, 2012. She was a native of Hart County, KY and a homemaker. For many years Edna had attended Buechel United Methodist Church, and had been a longtime volunteer at Bashford Manor East for decades. She was a devoted wife and mother, and had participated in a senior citizen exercise program and loved to go to Churchill Downs. Earlier in life she had been a caregiver for several people including close friends. Later she provided that same loving care to her immediate family. She enjoyed family get togethers, her friends and just interacting with people in general. Edna was a lover of animals, especially her dog, Lady.

Having been predeceased by her husband of 43 years, Walter L. Miller, she was also preceded by several brothers and sisters.

Left cherishing her memory is her son, Mark L. Miller; nephew, Robert (Susan) Rowe; brothers-in-law, Paul and Kenny Miller; great niece and nephew, Caitlin and Devin Rowe, and Lady her faithful companion.

A Life Celebration service will be held on Friday, October 19, 2012 at noon, at the Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Chapel, 4400 Bardstown Road, with interment in Resthaven Memorial Park. A gathering of family and friends will be on Friday from 9 am till service time.
