

Edward J. Goldner, 90, of Louisville, KY passed away on the morning of May 8, 2016, with his family by his side. He was born August 6, 1925, in Louisville to the late Edward J. Sr. and Catherine Kiray Goldner. Ed was a proud WWII veteran who served on USS Asheville, and was retired from General Electric after 35 years. Ed was a longtime member of Immanuel United Church of Christ, a proud Mason, and an American Legion Highland Post 201 member. Friends were often graced by Ed’s handiwork and plentiful homegrown vegetables. He never met an individual he wasn’t honored to help.
In addition to his parents, Ed was preceded in death by his brothers in law, Billy G. Steitz and Robert E. Haag.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 67 years, Jane Steitz, his son, David (Karen Egan), and grandson, Justin, sisters in law, Henrietta Steitz and Shirley S. Haag, and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held 12 pm on Thursday, May 12, 2016 in Arch L Heady at Resthaven Chapel, 4400 Bardstown Road with entombment to follow in Resthaven Memorial Park.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 2-8 pm at the funeral home.
