Born on Saturday, April 18, 1942 in Fleming – Neon, Kentucky, Elberta was the daughter of the lates’ Gillie “Dock” Webb & Lillian Russell Fugate. She was a retired Medical Technologist for the University of Louisville Hospital and was a member of HeartSong Church. She had a passion for painting ceramics, even winning several Blue Ribbons from the Kentucky State Fair. Elberta most cherished her time with her beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren, where she could often be found playing cards with her A-Team, of which she taught to play Uno.
Alongside her parents, Dock & Lillian Webb; her loving husband, John Kummer precedes Elberta in her passing.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, James Lee (Lisa) Hoagland and Jennifer (Gene) Heistand; her grandchildren who she called her A-team, Amber, Ashley, Alyssa & Austin; her step – children, John Kummer, David Kummer and Cheryl Smeltekop; her brother, Gillie Webb; her sister, Katherine Worley; plus, a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, February 8, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. in the Dignity Chapel of the Evergreen Funeral Home. Entombment will follow in the Court of St. Paul Mausoleums of the Evergreen Cemetery & Garden Mausoleums, where Elberta will rest of eternity alongside her loving husband, John. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 7, 2024 from 1:00 – 8:00 p.m. and then again on Thursday, February 8, 2024 from 12:00 p.m. until the Funeral Hour of 2:00 p.m. also at the Evergreen Funeral Home.
