Elizabeth was a remarkable woman whose impact on her family and community will be cherished forever. Graduating as valedictorian of her high school class in 1946, she exemplified dedication and commitment throughout her life. While raising her children, she was also the neighborhood barber and seamstress. Elizabeth was an advocate and caregiver for adults with disabilities and didn’t retire until she was in her 70’s. She loved her family so much that she would host Sunday dinners to bring everyone together. Anyone was welcome. We will forever speak on her amazing cooking skills and sweet tea. As a devout Catholic, she was a regular attendee at Saturday mass. She taught her children a deep love and respect for God. Outside of her family you could catch her cheering on the Louisville Cardinals and Lamar Jackson. She also loved to play bingo. Elizabeth’s legacy will live on forever through the love and strength she instilled in her family.
Elizabeth is survived by her children, Joseph Daniel Bradshaw (Jean), Elizabeth Diane Sandusky (Gerry), David Mattingly Bradshaw (Debbie), Kathleen Marie Coble (Tony), and Beverly Ann Bradshaw. Seventeen Grandchildren; thirty three great grandchildren; and 3 great, great grandchildren. Also left to cherish her memory are sisters, Ruth Ann Mattingly (Alice), Carolyn Green and sister in law Betsy Lou Mattingly.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband Ralph Thomas Bradshaw; her son's James Michael Bradshaw, Francis Raphael Bradshaw, and Thomas Gerald Bradshaw (Jackie); daughter Sandra Ann Gutierrez; and a grandson TJ Bradshaw; Her parents, Leonard and Madeline Mattingly, 6 brothers, 1 sister, 4 sisters in law, and 2 brother in laws.
Her funeral Mass will take place at Mary Queen of Peace,4005 Dixie Hwy, Thursday, December 5 at 10 am, Visitation will be at Arch L Heady and Son Funeral Home, 3601 Taylor Blvd, Wednesday, December 4 from 4pm until 8pm.
