He was born on August 21, 1933 to the late Ellis Rehm Vissman, Sr. and Helen (Reed) Vissman. He is preceded in death by his wife of 71 years, Ruth Vissman, their daughter, Diana Sue Vissman and sister, Edith Wakely.
He is survived by his children, Debra Giudice (Gary), Daniel Vissman (Shelly); grandchildren, Dana Clark (Mike), Connie Neal (Maggie), Jamie Watts (Mike), Corey Neal (Katie) and eight great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, Jeanette Kleinsteuber, Sarah Woodard and Verna Lotze (Lawrence).
Per Ellis's wishes cremation was chosen and he will be laid to rest privately beside his wife Ruth at Resthaven Memorial Park.
