

Elmer (Moe) Colwell passed away on May 8, 2025, at the age of 77. Born in Busy, Kentucky on January 24, 1948, to Lillian and Albert Colwell, Moe lived a life rich in love, dedication, and quiet strength.
A proud veteran, Moe served his country with honor during the Vietnam War. His courage and sacrifice were a testament to his unwavering commitment to those he held dear in his heart. Following his service, he spent 38 years working at General Electric, where he not only built a career but also formed lifelong friendships— including meeting his wife, Linda.
Moe’s heart belonged to the mountains, where he found peace in nature’s beauty. He loved fishing, listening to music, and most of all, spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Linda, his four sons—Keith Colwell (Danielle), Mark Colwell (Jennifer), Matt Scott, and Nick Scott (Cindy)—and his six grandchildren—Rachaell, Gavin, Nick, Aiden, Julius, and Ellie, and his siblings, Irene Smith, Green Colwell, Christine Stidham, Obed Colwell, Gary Colwell, and Nora Lee Huff.
Moe’s presence brought warmth and kindness to all who knew him. His legacy of love, resilience, and dedication will live on in the hearts of his family and friends. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 13th from 2-8 PM at Evergreen Funeral Home, with funeral services the next day, Wednesday, May 14th at 1 PM. Evergreen Funeral Home is located at 4623 Preston Hwy, Louisville, KY, 40213. Moe will be buried at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central.
