Elwood was born on April 30, 1926 in Boonville, KY to the late William Thomas and Ella May Cecil. He served our country during WWII while enlisted in the U.S. Army, was a member of Walnut Street Baptist Church and retired from John T. Couch Company.
Along with his parents, he is predeceased by his siblings, Lois, Wilma and Carol.
Here to carry on his memory are his children, Michael Cecil (Robin) and Michele Cecil (Kim); sibling, Connie, Tommy, Helen and Pat; along with many great friends, including his friends from Panera. The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff at Providence Louisville East and Hosparus for all the care and support given to Elwood.
There will be a memorial service 2pm Tuesday, December 19th at Arch L Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road, people are welcome to start gathering at the funeral home at 1:30pm. A graveside service with military honors will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.
