Mrs. Emily K. Roe, 81, of Louisville passed away on Thursday, March 29, 2018 at her home. She was born in Richmond, KY on December 9, 1936 to Omar and Nell Kersey. Emily loved her family and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a long time member of Pewee Valley Presbyterian Church. Emily enjoyed various types of music, playing the piano and was a member of Voces Novae. She had a great love for community theater as well and was a long time member of Mummers and Minstrels.
She is survived by her dear friend and partner of 30 years, Patrick Carroll; children, K. Michael Roe (Moira) and Amy L. Leenerts (John); grandchildren, Kiara Roe, Luke Roe, Thomas Otten Jr., Parker Leenerts, Madelyn Leenerts, and Kelsey Leenerts; great grandchild, Thomas Gregory III; and last but not least her best friend Sadie Mae.
A celebration of Emily’s life will be held at 1 PM on Monday, April 2, 2018 at the Arch L. Heady and Son at Westport Village, 7410 Westport Road. Burial will follow at Louisville Memorial Gardens East. The family will receive friends from 10 am to 1 pm on Monday at the funeral home.
