Emma Jean Payton

Emma Jean Payton, 85, passed away Saturday, January 12, 2019 at the Nazareth Home. She was a native of Muhlenberg County, KY, born November 1, 1933 to the late Willie Howard and Minnie Agnes Romans Smith. She was a retired Day Care Teacher and a long time Baptist. She was preceded in death along with her parents, her siblings June Shoemaker and Earl Smith. She is survived by her loving husband, Roscoe Payton; her daughters, Rebecca Jean Bobick (Richard) of Kerrville, TX, and Linda Joy Williams (Stephen F.); her siblings, Juanita Hoskinson, James Smith, Darrell Smith, and Jo Cottrell; her grandson, Payton Williams (Ashley).

Services to celebrate Emma’s life will be held at Noon on Tuesday in the chapel of Arch L. Heady-Cralle, 2428 Frankfort Ave., with interment to follow at Cave Hill. Visitation 4-8 pm Monday, and after 11 am Tuesday.

The family would like to thank the entire staff of the Nazareth Home for providing the family with sense of community, compassion, and professionalism.
