Erik D. Pickett Sr.

Erik was a volunteer at the Government Center and for the Red Cross. He was an avid athlete, a loving father and enjoyed making you laugh and smile.

He is preceded in death by his granddaddy, William “Jerry” Payne, great-grandmother, Mary Elizabeth Bonner and an uncle, Erik Carlilse.

Erik leaves behind his mother, Rocquael “Rocky” Pickett, His grandmother, Johnetta “Diva” Bonner Payne, children, Erik Pickett Jr., Emanuel Pickett, Erial Pickett and McKinley Cleary, siblings, Desmond Pickett, Catrice Pickett Owens, Johnathen Williams, Sharleeta Williams and Brianna Yarbrough, his first love, April Denning , mother of McKinley, Jessika Cleary, Aunt Brigette Hayley and Cousins Devin Hayley and Mya Hayley. Erik is also survived by a host of family and friends.

A funeral service to celebrate Erik’s life will be conducted at 11am on Friday, September 16, 2016 at The Greater Faith Church of Deliverance, 5720 Outer Loop, Louisville KY 40219 with interment to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Guests are invited to attend a visitation from 2-8pm on Thursday, September 15, 2016 at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Rd. and at the church on Friday after 10am.
