He was born December 26, 1916 to the late Claude and Ruby Berry House. Lee worked for and retired from DuPont as a foreman and training manager after 36 years of service. He was also a longtime member of Southeast Christian Church, a Hall of Fame member of the Furtakers of America, a member of Woodhaven Golf Club who regularly shot his age, and absolutely loved doing anything outdoors.
Lee was preceded in death by his parents; and by his wife of 73 years, Alice "Nita" Juanita House.
He is survived by his son, Jerry L. (Dorothy) House; daughter, Judith (Bill) Cobb; brother, Jack (Kate) Nall; seven grandchildren, Kevin S. (Lisa) House, Vonda (Bruce) Jennings, Robin Shacklett, Bruce W. Cobb, Chris L. (Betsy) Cobb, Melissa Cobb, and Holly (Rex) Nealis; six great-grandchildren, Griffin Cobb, Ian Cobb, Brett Jennings, Heather Jennings, Rebecca House, Amanda Grubbs; and several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday at the Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel, 4400 Bardstown Road, with interment at Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 12:30-2 p.m. on Tuesday, with service to follow at the funeral home.
