Etta Joan Bennett, 85, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on October 20, 2026. Etta Joan was beloved and cherished by those who knew her, and she will be remembered with deep respect and lasting affection. A devoted, hard-working woman, she gave of herself steadily and wholeheartedly, especially to the people she loved most.
Her son was her life, and she was known as a great mother whose care and devotion were evident in the way she showed up, day after day. Outgoing and always on the move, she never cared to sit still for long—often ready with her familiar words, “Come on, Let’s go,” as she set the pace with energy and purpose. She found joy in bingo, shopping, and cooking, and those closest to her knew her as the best cook. She also enjoyed going to the races and loved animals dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Sherman and Lena Burdine; her siblings, Larry Burdine, David Burdine, and Margaret Roberson; as well as her beloved fur baby Bear.
Left to cherish her memory are her son, William “Robbie” Bennett (Dewana); her grandchildren, John Young, James Young, and Kim House; as well as many other beloved family members and friends.
