Gene is preceded in death by his parents, Eddie and Helen Nance Polson; granddaughter, Cassie McConnell; and sister, Sarah Mitchell.
Gene is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Winnie McGuire Polson; daughter, Laura McConnell (Michael); step-children, Sherryl Swift (Mike), Charles Boston (Brenetta), and Louellen Boston; granddaughter, Michelle McConnell, along with several step-grandchildren; great-granddaughter, Riley McConnell, along with several step-great-grandchildren; siblings, Anna Lee Stephenson, Sam Polson, Robert Polson (Margaret), and Brenda Polson.
Funeral service to honor the life of Gene will be noon on Friday, August 24, 2012 at Evergreen Funeral Home, 4623 Preston Hwy, with entombment to follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1pm-8pm on Thursday at the funeral home.
